The Swiss mountain village of Brienz remains evacuated due to the imminent threat of a landslide.
Authorities have declared a "red phase," restricting access and banning drone flights.
Discussions are underway about the village's future, with relocation plans gaining traction.
Three potential sites for resettlement have been identified, and a decision is expected by May 2025. The Swiss federal government and the canton have pledged to cover 90% of the relocation costs, easing financial burdens on residents.
If all goes as planned, the relocation could begin as early as winter 2025/26. Officials emphasize the importance of supporting local agriculture during this transition.
