An 18-year-old driver lost control of his black Mercedes AMG GT R in Zurich's Kreis 7 district, injuring a 69-year-old pedestrian on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred when the driver accelerated rapidly after a traffic light turned green, causing the car to veer onto the sidewalk and hit the woman.

The vehicle then crashed into a wall on the opposite side of the street.

The pedestrian suffered severe leg injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The driver was arrested, and authorities have launched an investigation into suspected reckless driving.

Zurich police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the accident or the driver's behavior before the crash.
