A serious accident occurred on Monday afternoon in Zollikerberg, Switzerland, leaving a 53-year-old woman severely injured.

The incident happened on Rüterwiesstrasse when a garbage truck, operated by a 41-year-old driver, struck the woman as she attempted to cross the road.

She was dragged several meters by the vehicle before it stopped.

Emergency responders provided first aid at the scene before transporting her to the hospital.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Zurich Cantonal Police and the See/Oberland Public Prosecutor's Office.

Specialists have secured evidence at the site, and the road was closed to traffic with a detour set up by the fire department.
