A 20-year-old driver suffered severe injuries after crashing into a guardrail in Unteriberg, Switzerland, on Thursday night.
The accident occurred around 9:15 PM on Hertistrasse near the Waag bridge.
While the 17-year-old passenger managed to exit the vehicle and call for help, the driver had to be rescued by local fire departments.
He was airlifted to a hospital outside the region, while the passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated locally.
The road remained closed for three hours during the rescue and investigation.
Authorities are now working to determine the cause of the crash.
