Winter is making a brief comeback in Switzerland this weekend, bringing snow and cold temperatures.

A polar air mass is sweeping in, causing the snowline to drop as low as 500 meters in some areas.

The Alps and higher regions are expected to see significant snowfall, with up to 20 cm in some places.

Meanwhile, the flatlands will experience cloudy skies, brisk winds, and temperatures around 5-7°C.

By Sunday, light snow may even reach lower elevations, though it is unlikely to settle.

This wintery spell is expected to ease by Monday, with milder, sunnier weather returning midweek.
