A tragic accident occurred on Sunday morning in Lützelflüh-Goldbach, where a 21-year-old man was fatally struck by a train.

The incident took place around 6:00 AM near the railway tracks on Maadweg, as reported by the Bern cantonal police.

Despite an emergency brake being applied, the collision could not be avoided.

The victim, a Swiss national from the canton of Bern, was found lifeless at the scene, and a doctor confirmed his death.

The train service between Langnau and Burgdorf was disrupted for several hours.
