In the Swiss Alps, the traditional etiquette of mountain huts is being tested by a new wave of visitors.
These huts, known for their rustic charm and communal atmosphere, are now frequented by urbanites and weekend adventurers unfamiliar with the long-standing customs.
Hut wardens are increasingly reminding guests of the 'hut etiquette,' which includes rules like not asking for Wi-Fi, removing hiking boots before entering dining areas, and not expecting hotel-like amenities such as showers.
The Swiss Alpine Club has even published a guide to help newcomers navigate these social norms.
As the huts become more popular, the challenge is to maintain their unique culture while accommodating a diverse clientele.
