Giuseppe Basilico, a 48-year-old bus driver in the picturesque Verzascatal of Switzerland, shares his experiences with the influx of tourists that has surged since the pandemic.
He likens the overwhelming crowds to vultures, as they often rush to board his bus, making it difficult for him to manage the flow of passengers.
While he appreciates that 90% of tourists are well-mannered, he expresses frustration when they fail to offer seats to those in need, like pregnant women and the elderly.
The rise in camper traffic has also posed challenges, with Basilico recounting instances where his colleagues had to maneuver dangerously to avoid collisions.
Despite the chaos, he finds joy in connecting with local residents and learning a bit of Swiss German from the diverse visitors.
The stunning scenery continues to attract around 50,000 guests each summer, making the Verzascatal a beloved destination.
