A significant fire broke out in the attic of a multi-family house in Oberrieden, near Lake Zurich, on Saturday, causing extensive smoke and a strong, unpleasant odor.

Authorities have warned residents and passersby to keep windows and doors closed and to turn off ventilation and air conditioning systems to prevent smoke inhalation.

The fire, which started around 11:45 AM, led to the evacuation of several residents, though fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

Emergency services, including police and firefighters, are on the scene with a large deployment, working to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

A radar device, recently installed in the area, was also destroyed in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and updates are expected as more information becomes available.
