A fire broke out at the Sportcenter Schumacher in Dübendorf, near the Zurich-Schwammendingen city border, on Wednesday afternoon.

Alertswiss issued a warning due to heavy smoke, advising residents to close windows and doors and to avoid the area.

The fire, which started behind the tennis hall, was quickly brought under control by the fire department, preventing widespread damage.

Fortunately, the building was fully evacuated, and no injuries were reported among the approximately 30 people present at the time.

However, the tennis hall remains unusable, with damage estimated at several tens of thousands of francs.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Zurich Cantonal Police's fire investigation unit.

Alertswiss lifted the warning at 4:31 PM after the situation was deemed safe.
