A massive fire engulfed a residential building in Staufen, Aargau, on Wednesday evening following reports of loud explosions.

The blaze, which began around 8 PM, required over 100 firefighters and lasted into the early hours of the morning.

Nearby buildings were evacuated, and a neighboring house also caught fire.

Two residents remain missing, and the cause of the explosions and fire is still under investigation.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries during the operation.

The fire left the building in ruins, described as a "field of debris" by authorities.

Train services in the area were briefly disrupted but have since resumed.
