Fabio Meier, a 16-year-old from the Zürcher Unterland, has been crowned the Schützenkönig at the Knabenschiessen 2024 in Zurich.

The competition was fierce, with 13 participants initially tying at 34 points.

Meier ultimately triumphed in a tense shoot-off, scoring 33 points to secure his victory.

His success marks the first time since 1993 that someone from the Zürcher Unterland has won this title.

Meier attributes his win to his experience and focus, honed through his involvement with the Schützenverein Opfikon-Glattbrugg.

Despite the male-dominated nature of the sport, Meier's victory highlights the importance of concentration and skill over gender.
