In a historic move, the Zürich Children's Hospital has relocated from its long-standing site in Hottingen to a new facility in Lengg, marking the end of an era spanning over 150 years.

The relocation, which took place on November 2, involved the careful transfer of 65 children, some in critical condition, with the help of 25 ambulances from three cantons.

The new hospital, designed by renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, offers more space and modern amenities, much to the relief of parents and staff.

Meanwhile, the future of the old hospital site remains uncertain, with debates ongoing about its potential use for affordable housing or a new dental clinic.

The move has sparked discussions among local politicians about the best use of the valuable 20,000 square meter site, reflecting the city's pressing housing needs.
