Train Disruptions Hit Key Swiss Route

Train services between Olten and Zurich HB were severely disrupted on Tuesday evening due to a "foreign event," later identified as a person-related incident.

The interruption, which lasted until 7:30 PM, affected major lines including TGV, ICE, and IC, causing delays, cancellations, and rerouted journeys.

Commuters traveling between Bern and Zurich had to detour via Lucerne, while replacement buses operated between Lenzburg, Aarau, and Schönenwerd.

The disruption impacted both regional and long-distance trains, leaving many passengers stranded during peak hours.

The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) has since restored normal operations but warned of residual delays.
