Train services between Zurich and Winterthur are severely disrupted due to a damaged overhead line.

The issue arose when a S-Bahn train damaged the line near Kemptthal, causing a subsequent freight train to bring it down.

As a result, several regional trains, including S7, S8, and S24, are not operating between Winterthur and Effretikon.

The S11 and S12 lines are also affected, with alternative bus services being organized.

Travelers are advised to consider alternative routes, such as using shuttle trains between Winterthur and Bülach, and to stay updated on the situation.

The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) estimates that the disruption will last until at least 2 PM.
