Two climbers tragically fell to their deaths on the Matterhorn, plunging over a thousand meters.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when the climbers, who had set out from the Hörnlihütte in Zermatt, failed to return as planned.
Their goal was to ascend the Matterhorn via the Hörnligrat route.
Concerned parties alerted the Air Zermatt rescue team, who discovered the climbers' bodies on the mountain's north face.
The cause of the fall remains unknown, and formal identification of the victims is ongoing.
