Two German sailors tragically lost their lives on Lake Constance while en route to the 'Regatta der Eisernen,' one of Europe's largest inland regattas.

The sailors, aged 38 and 39, set sail from Friedrichshafen to Konstanz but were reported missing when they failed to arrive.

Their capsized boat was discovered on Saturday morning, leading to a search operation involving forces from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

Sadly, the men were found deceased near Münsterlingen, Switzerland.

The regatta, known for its challenging winter conditions, was canceled following the incident.

An investigation by the Kreuzlingen prosecutor's office is underway to determine the circumstances of the accident.
