Switzerland's new state aircraft, the Bombardier Global 7500, has landed in Payerne.
This advanced jet, costing 103 million Swiss francs, will replace the 23-year-old Cessna Citation Excel 560XL.
With a range of over 14,000 kilometers, it offers significantly greater autonomy.
The jet will be operational for government use starting spring 2025, following crew training and the installation of a self-defense system.
Initially stationed in Payerne, it will move to Bern-Belp after two years for long-haul missions.
The aircraft will serve various purposes, including official travel, humanitarian missions, and emergency evacuations.
