The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) is set to introduce a new timetable from December 15, bringing significant improvements for commuters across Switzerland.

The changes include more frequent train services and reduced travel times, benefiting major regions such as Zurich, Bern, and Lausanne.

Key updates include an additional train on the Zurich-Munich route, allowing earlier and later travel options.

The St.

Gallen to Sargans route will see half-hourly services, and there will be more IC5 connections between St.

Gallen and Zurich.

A new direct Saturday service will run from Geneva Airport to Locarno via Bern.

Additionally, a pilot project will introduce night services on several routes, including Bern to Zurich and Geneva Airport, enhancing weekend travel options.

These changes aim to ease congestion at main stations and provide more convenient travel for commuters.
