Swiss Parliament Debates Danish Reactor

Published: 2024-12-29

A Danish nuclear reactor is set to be tested in Villigen, Switzerland, by 2026, sparking political debate.

The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and Copenhagen Atomics plan to transport the reactor, which is already built, to the Aargau canton.

Critics, including Swiss Energy Foundation and politician Reto Nause, warn of safety risks and lack of standardized testing protocols.

However, PSI defends the project, emphasizing strict regulations and innovative technology designed to prevent meltdowns.

The Swiss Parliament is now discussing the reactor's future, as concerns over safety and innovation clash.
