The Swiss Farmers' Association is calling for higher wages for farmers, warning that family-run farms are at risk.

Markus Ritter, the association's president, highlighted that rising retail prices are worsening the situation for these farms.

He emphasized the need to strengthen family farming businesses to ensure their survival.

Ritter also expressed concerns about the Environmental Responsibility Initiative, which he believes could pose additional challenges to agriculture in Switzerland.

The association is advocating for a minimum wage of 17 Swiss francs per hour for farmers to address these issues.
