Breakthrough in Swiss Wage Protection Talks

After months of tense negotiations, Swiss Economic Minister Guy Parmelin has announced a breakthrough in wage protection talks between unions and employers.

The agreement includes 13 key measures aimed at safeguarding Swiss wages amidst new EU agreements.

These measures address issues like collective labor agreements and stricter wage controls for foreign companies operating in Switzerland.

However, the deal remains fragile, with some measures still requiring full approval from all parties.

Unions have cautiously welcomed the progress but demand further concessions, particularly on worker protections.

The finalized measures are expected to be presented for public consultation by June.
