A 64-year-old man in Switzerland has been arrested for allegedly abducting a 27-year-old municipal employee at gunpoint in February.
The victim managed to escape shortly after being forced to drive, leading to a police investigation.
The suspect, linked to the anti-government "sovereign citizen" movement, was apprehended in Hittnau, where authorities discovered multiple weapons and ammunition in his home.
This incident has raised alarms about the radicalization of such groups, which reject state authority and have shown increasing signs of violence.
Experts warn that while most members engage in non-violent resistance, the potential for escalation remains high.
Swiss authorities are now calling for intensified surveillance of these groups to prevent further incidents.
