Tennis legend Roger Federer has decided not to proceed with the construction of a boat house next to his villa in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland.
This decision follows an intervention by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment, which filed a complaint against the already granted construction permit.
The city of Rapperswil-Jona announced that the decision was a mutual agreement between Federer and the environmental office.
While the boat house will not be built, other aspects of the project, such as the renaturation of the lakeshore and the construction of a new boat dock, will continue as planned.
Federer's property development has faced multiple objections, delaying its completion.
Despite these challenges, the project promises to offer Federer significantly more space than his previous property.
