Federer Sells Swiss Property After 12 Years

Roger Federer has successfully sold his expansive property in Herrliberg, Switzerland, to the Amini Group, a luxury real estate firm based in Zurich.

The 5,800 square meter plot, which had been on the market for several years, was sold for an estimated 30 million Swiss Francs, slightly below the initial asking price of 35 million.

Despite the prime location overlooking Lake Zurich, the property's steep terrain and limited buildability contributed to the price reduction.

Federer originally purchased the land for 29 million Swiss Francs in 2012, and while the sale did not yield a significant profit, it provides him with liquidity for his ongoing construction projects in Rapperswil-Jona.

There, Federer is developing a large estate with multiple buildings, including a rumored indoor tennis court, offering him more space and direct lake access.

The sale marks a strategic move for Federer, who has faced challenges with local opposition to some aspects of his new development, such as the construction of a boathouse.
