A 21-year-old Spanish man was arrested in Zurich early Wednesday morning after being found with over 20 power banks in his possession.

The unusual quantity of chargers led police to investigate further, revealing that the items were allegedly stolen from Selecta vending machines.

Officers discovered two damaged machines at Wiedikon train station, believed to be the source of the stolen goods.

The suspect was taken to a police station for further questioning.

The damage to the machines is estimated to be worth several thousand Swiss francs.

Selecta vending machines sell Chimpy power banks, which require a 15-franc deposit refundable upon return within seven days.
