A devastating fire has destroyed the iconic 100-year-old bathhouse in Rorschach, Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Constance.
Built in 1924, the wooden structure was a unique landmark and the last of its kind in the region.
The fire broke out early Monday morning, with emergency services alerted around 3:30 AM.
Despite the efforts of firefighters and rescue teams, the building was completely consumed by flames.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are appealing for witnesses to assist in the investigation.
Plans to renovate the bathhouse for its centennial were already underway, making its loss even more tragic.
Local officials have expressed their determination to rebuild this cherished symbol of Rorschach.
