Recently, a taxi driver and a handyman helped the police apprehend several suspects involved in fraudulent schemes.

The scammers pressured elderly women into withdrawing large sums of money from their banks.

On Tuesday, a taxi driver suspected a scam when he drove an elderly woman to a bank and promptly alerted the police.

This led to the arrest of a 62-year-old Romanian man.

Similarly, on Thursday, a handyman noticed another elderly woman heading to a bank after a suspicious call and intervened.

The police arrested a 29-year-old Afghan man at the scene.

The Zurich police remind the public never to hand over cash or valuables to strangers and to report suspicious calls immediately.
