This three-day event, recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, features colorful parades, music, and sharp social commentary.
This year’s theme, "Syg wie de wottsch" (Be as you want), celebrates individuality and self-expression, addressing gender and self-determination debates.
The festivities include the lively Cortège parade, where groups creatively critique political and societal issues.
With over 20,000 participants, the Basler Fasnacht promises a dazzling display of tradition and modernity.
