In a tragic conclusion to a search that began in March, the body of the sixth missing ski tourer has been found in the Swiss Alps.
The 28-year-old woman from Fribourg was discovered during a helicopter flight over Tête Blanche, where a partially buried piece of clothing led to her location.
She had been missing since March 9, 2024, when a severe storm struck her group during a ski tour between Zermatt and Evolène.
The group, which included five family members from Valais aged 21 to 58, was caught off guard by the storm, resulting in the loss of all six lives.
The discovery was made by specialists from the mountain unit of the Valais cantonal police, who were able to identify the body.
The exact distance between this location and where the rest of the group was found remains undisclosed.
