In a recent large-scale customs operation, the Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (Bazg) uncovered nearly 700 packages containing illegal goods in international mail.
The operation aimed to intercept drugs, illegal weapons, laser pointers, and counterfeit medications.
Among the seized items, counterfeit medications were the most prevalent, with 241 packages, followed by suspected brand counterfeits at 188, and weapons at 61. This crackdown highlights the ongoing challenges in regulating international shipping and the persistent issue of illegal trade through postal services.
