The Swiss Air Force has temporarily halted the training operations of its F/A-18 fighter jets due to irregularities in the oxygen supply to pilots.
This precautionary measure was announced by the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (VBS) after pilots reported issues with oxygen levels in recent days.
Despite the suspension of training, the air policing service remains fully operational, and the combat readiness of the jets is assured.
Specialists are currently investigating the cause of these oxygen supply disruptions to ensure pilot safety.
The decision to resume training flights will be made once the investigation is complete.
The Swiss Air Force operates a fleet of 25 F/A-18C and 5 F/A-18D jets, which have undergone several upgrades since their introduction in 1997.
