At the SP party congress in Davos, Co-President Cédric Wermuth sharply criticized the Mitte and FDP parties for mimicking the SVP's asylum policies, which he described as showing a disturbing inclination towards violence against the vulnerable.
The congress, attended by around 400 delegates, unanimously re-elected Wermuth and Mattea Meyer as co-presidents.
Meyer emphasized the need to not leave the stage to the powerful and right-wing, highlighting the importance of addressing social challenges.
The delegates also passed a resolution demanding better protection for victims of violence, urging the creation of more shelters and advisory centers.
Additionally, the SP called for the abolition of the debt brake and investments in purchasing power, equality, and climate protection.
The party also discussed a public pharma strategy to regulate drug prices and proposed the state buyback of Sandoz.
