A shooting incident in Bern's Länggasse district on Wednesday evening has left one person seriously injured.

According to the Bern police, shots were fired from a dark vehicle at another car near the intersection of Neufeld- and Zähringerstrasse.

The driver of the targeted car was severely injured and taken to the hospital.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing emergency services arrive shortly after.

The suspect's vehicle fled the scene and remains untraced despite extensive police search efforts.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity or a dark vehicle in the area during the evening.
