A tragic accident occurred on Friday afternoon in Siselen, where an e-bike rider was fatally struck by an agricultural trailer.

The incident happened as the e-bike rider was traveling from Finsterhennen towards Bargen and was hit by an oncoming agricultural trailer for reasons still under investigation.

Despite immediate resuscitation efforts, the rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Bern Cantonal Police, along with a care team, ambulance, and Rega crew, responded to the accident.

The Rübenweg was closed for several hours during the investigation.

The regional public prosecutor's office has launched an inquiry to determine the exact circumstances of the accident, with indications of the rider's identity yet to be formally confirmed.
