In a dramatic police operation in Volketswil, Zurich, two men were caught attempting a daring break-in at a shopping center.

The incident unfolded shortly after midnight when a vigilant resident reported suspicious activity on the roof of the Media Markt.

Responding swiftly, the Zurich cantonal police surrounded the building, catching the burglars in the act.

The two men, aged 49 and 39, both Romanian nationals, had entered the building through a hole they made in the roof.

Despite attempts to flee, including one suspect trying to rappel down the building, both were apprehended without resistance.

The suspects are now in custody, and investigations are underway to determine if they are linked to other crimes.
