A young man in Uster, Switzerland, has been caught speeding just seven weeks after receiving a suspended sentence for a similar offense.
In December 2022, the then 20-year-old crashed his father's car while driving under the influence and at excessive speeds.
Despite expressing remorse and vowing not to repeat his actions, he was caught again, this time sober but still speeding at 180 km/h in a Tesla on a road with an 80 km/h limit.
The incident resulted in a collision with another vehicle, causing minor injuries to a passenger.
The court has now ordered him to undergo inpatient addiction therapy, with a suspended 34-month prison sentence contingent on successful treatment.
The judge emphasized the importance of the young man taking this opportunity seriously, warning that failure would result in serving the full prison term.
