UBS Reveals Top Family-Friendly Towns

Published: 2024-10-22

UBS has unveiled its new Residential Attractiveness Indicator (WAI), highlighting that mid-sized towns in Switzerland are often more appealing for families than expensive cities.

The study, focusing on families with two children and average financial means, found that towns like Aarau, Chur, and Lucerne offer a balance of good infrastructure, leisure options, and manageable living costs.

While prestigious low-tax municipalities and major cities like Zurich and Geneva are known for high living costs, they don't always provide the best value for families.

Instead, mid-sized centers like Locarno and Vevey are preferred, offering a more affordable and family-friendly environment.

The WAI considers 35 variables, emphasizing practical factors over aesthetic ones, to determine the most attractive living areas for families across Switzerland.
