A group of organized players attempted to exploit the Swiss Lotto's "Joker" game by systematically betting on all possible six-digit combinations.
This tactic, which cost them around 2 million Swiss francs, led to the temporary suspension of the game by Loterie Romande for investigation.
Despite the disruption, the Wednesday draw proceeded, and a single ticket won the nearly 3 million franc jackpot.
While it remains unconfirmed, it is statistically likely that the winning ticket belongs to the group.
The incident has raised concerns about vulnerabilities in lottery systems, prompting scrutiny from regulatory authorities.
