A tragic accident occurred early Wednesday morning on Seestrasse in Hergiswil, where a 55-year-old driver lost his life after his car crashed into a wall.

The incident was reported at 5:30 AM, and emergency services arrived to find the driver deceased at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains unclear, and an investigation is underway by the Nidwalden Cantonal Police in collaboration with the Nidwalden Public Prosecutor's Office.

The main road between Acheregg and Hergiswil Dorf was closed for four hours as a result of the accident.

Emergency responders included the Nidwalden Cantonal Police, Stans Fire Brigade, an ambulance, and other local services.
