Credit Suisse's Nazi Ties Exposed

Published: 2025-01-05

A U.

S. Senate investigation has revealed that Credit Suisse withheld critical information during past probes into accounts linked to Nazis during World War II.

Tens of thousands of newly uncovered documents, including 3,600 records and 40,000 microfilms, show connections between the Swiss bank and Nazi-linked account holders.

These findings were brought to light by Neil Barofsky, a former ombudsman for Credit Suisse, who was dismissed in 2022 but reinstated after UBS acquired the bank in 2023. Barofsky's team discovered accounts tied to high-ranking SS officers and other entities involved in selling looted Jewish assets.

The Senate committee has urged Credit Suisse to fully disclose all remaining historical records.

UBS has pledged to support the investigation, which remains ongoing, aiming to shed light on this dark chapter of history.
