Car Lands on Swiss Train Tracks

Published: 2024-09-08

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a 23-year-old woman drove her car onto the tracks of the Appenzeller Bahnen in Speicher, Switzerland.

Accompanied by a 28-year-old passenger, she veered off the road and onto the railway line, causing damage to a parked vehicle as gravel was displaced by the spinning tires.

The police, upon arrival, found only a witness at the scene.

A subsequent search led to the discovery of the driver and her companion, both of whom were deemed unfit to drive.

The woman, identified as the driver, exhibited aggressive behavior and was taken into custody.

Her Polish driving license was confiscated, and she faces charges.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the incident resulted in several thousand francs in damages and a temporary disruption to train services.
